Feeling Adventurous Today
As it turns out, I woke up feeling adventurous today, so I packed up the boys and made it to the free showing of Madagascar at 9:15 AM. They had a great time. The movie thing went so well that I felt adventurous enough to take them to lunch afterwards. We had pizza at California Pizza Kitchen then did some shopping at the mall. They both fell asleep in the car on the way home, which presented its own problem. How to get both of them out of the car and into the house calmly enough for them to continue napping? Obviously, this is easily accomplished when the hub is here to help, but I'm flying solo today. When I turned off the car the youngest woke up and the oldest was still asleep. Had it been the other way around it would have been easy enough for the oldest to walk while I carried the sleeping youngest in the house to his crib. No such luck.
OK, so leaving one in the car while carrying the other into the house just doesn't seem like a good option. Even if I lock the car, I don't like the idea of having one of them in the car while I'm in the house even for just a few seconds. I'm paranoid like that. So, I bite the bullet. Get the youngest out of his carseat and walk around to the other side of the car and wake the oldest up so that we can all go into the house together. I get everyone inside, get the youngest to lie down on the couch with the premise of watching Dora all the while hoping that he'd fall back to sleep. Again, no such luck.
I take the baby in to his room, get his sandals off and hope that he'll go back to sleep in his crib without a fuss. Jackpot! Three times a charm. He lies right down and goes back to sleep.
The oldest is happy to watch Dora on TiVo and I have time to post. I LOVE TiVo.
Above is a necklace strung with five lampworked beads (I did not make the beads), black seed beads and Swarovski glass pearls.

You truly do make some really lovely jewelry!
I always thank God for on-demand through comcast... All Elmo, All the time. Of course, I'd like to shoot the little red bastard from time to time, but he keeps Jadette happy. Usually.

WOW! Gorgeous stuff. And whenever I'm watching the Poo (2 year-old niece) I'm so grateful for her mom's TiVo I can hardly see straight. Gotta love Jimmy Neutron.

Beautiful jewelry - I love the lampwork beads in this one. I usually make my own jewelry because my neck is so darned small and I love chokers... it's always fun though =)
And I completely understand how you feel about leaving a kid in a car by themselves... especially where you live. I'm in New Hampshire so I'm not as paranoid, but still certainly concerned. My first little girlie is three, and my second little girlie will be 1 in about 2 weeks - and she ADORES Fraggle Rock. I've got the first two DVDs that are out right now and I currently have the second one on repeat... although, it is starting to get just a tad annoying.
Good Luck!
