A Proud Parent Moment

Boy, I am tearing up with posts this week. This might be the most I've posted in one week ever. Anyway...

Tonight my darling 4-1/2 year-old son sang in his first Christmas show. The preschool that he attends put on a fantastic little show. My brother even battled rush-hour traffic and came down from Baltimore to see his nephew's show. The kids have been practicing for weeks and he has been singing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" constantly. It was cute to hear him singing the songs around the house. It was overwhelmingly emotional to see him stand on stage with his classmates while they sang their little hearts out at the top of their lungs. This mom is all choked up with pride tonight.

  • That just might be the sweetest thing that I've read all week. I have enough warm fuzzies to carry me into the holiday season.

  • That is tremendously sweet. What a wonderful "holiday" memory.

  • There is something endearing about school pageants. When the child up there is *yours* ... well, it doesn't get much better than that, does it?

  • Made me tear up too... especially 'cause I may never hear Jadette sing, period. It's rather a bitter irony that I sing for a living and she may never even talk.

I am so so happy that you were able to see that program. How incredibly wonderful!!! And you SHOULD be a proud mama!!!

  • MA-Glad I could lift your spirits.

    Cube-It was great. Thanks.

Pobble-It does not get any better. Makes everything totally worth it.

Jaded-Jadette has THE best momma--your love, support and advocacy for her are inspiring. I sincerely hope that you can someday experience Jadette not only talking but singing in a pageant as well. God bless you all.

  • It's a great moment to see your children doing new things -- it makes you understand why you put up without sleep, privacy, or any kind of independent social life.
